HARBOR VILLAGE ASSOCIATION

About Coleman Lake:

Residents are welcome to fish, boat, kayak, or even paddle board on our 17-acre private lake but keep the swimming in the pool.  Coleman Lake has a rich history. Mr. A.J. Coleman began using the area as a rock quarry back in the 1940s, which explains all the rock you will see, or hit if you start digging, around the Village. Eventually the springs he kept uncovering were allowed to fill the lake, ending his dreams for a rock quarry, but creating beautiful Coleman Lake. It was purchased by Mr. Nabors in the 1970s, and then incorporated into the development of Harbor Village and further developed into the Harbor Village P.U.D.

About the Wildlife:

Wildlife in and around the neighborhood and lake include White-tailed Deer (almost daily), Red Fox, Raccoon, Eastern Gray Squirrel, Striped Skunk, Groundhog, American Beaver, and a few feral cats who seem to keep the mice away! Every so often you will see American Eagles coming in for a quick seafood feast.
